Is it correct that Tkachuk has 3 options to play in the 22-23 NHL season:
(1) Sign the qualifying offer by July 22 (and sign with the Flames between January 1-June 30, 2023 OR sign with anyone from July 1, 2023 on),
(2) Reject the QO and sign a different deal with the Flames by the RFA signing deadline, and
(3) Reject the QO and sign an offer sheet by the RFA signing deadline?

As far as which option Tkachuk will choose, I have no idea. I do not have his level of risk tolerance.

If Tkachuk is going to choose (1), the Flames need to trade him.
