Not Gaudreau, but possibly Fox. We're in a world now where you really have to know everything about the assets you're bringing into the mix. The combine has become an important aspect of the draft now, and the opportunity to talk with these kids becomes just that much more important. Possibly requires new skills for scouts to use in their evaluation of talent. I would be extremely hesitant to draft Americans that have no connection or knowledge of Canada. Americans who play junior hockey? Yeah, take them if they interview well. Americans who played only in the American bubble? I would be hesitant as a Canadian team.

Johnny Gaudreau was taken 104th. How many players do you think are interviewed? I’m not even sure he attended since less than 100 do. And what do you think a kid is going to say to teams that might be interested in him? Nah, don’t bother - I’m an American.
