It’s funny that people thing playing closer to home is exclusive to Americans.
Jay Bouwmeester signed closer to home in Calgary because that was his wife’s preference at the time.
Glencross in Calgary. Then he retired because he didn’t want to go play somewhere else for what he thought wasn’t enough money.
Tavares and Brodie in Toronto. French Canadian players have been going back to Montreal for years.
Players have signed closer to home for years but now that it was Gaudreau and it went the other way it was an outrage and people act like this is exclusive to Americans, and that Gaudreau betrayed Calgary somehow.
