It pretty much is the best day Blu Jackets history. Franchise players in their prime almost never just fall to you, especially teams like the Blue Jackets (or Flames). I remember when the Flames signed Bouwmeester and how great it felt to be a team that could lure the premiere guy for once, the Gaudreau signing is even bigger than that.
I hold nothing against the Jackets though. They have had their fair share of hardships.
