I’ve spent time in Ohio professionally. Yes, its a flyover state and politics aside the people are nice. The issue in a corporate capacity is you have 3 major(?) cities in Cleveland, Cincinnati and Columbus but no critical mass of population in any of them. Cleveland and Cincinnati clearly show their early industrialist roots and you see re-purposed factories all over. Columbus felt more modern in many ways….Nice enough city but a lot of nameless high tech industrial parks. When my company was looking at events in Ohio the issue was always where do you host it as the corp population is spread between 3 cities. I mean if I had to live in Ohio I would pick Columbus but it wouldn't be on my personal list of destinations if I was a star UFA. Victoria’s Secret is HQed there so maybe that was a signing factor
