And there's inconsistencies in this vs the presser, he doesn't suggest Columbus was top just that they were on the list.

A touch painful to watch that. Johnny still comes across as a nice guy who you wouldn't think would intentionally have screwed the Flames over. Clearly though, the situation was terribly handled and he really damaged how his fans view him.
The consideration given to the pediatric hospital would make more sense to me if it's for the sake of their kid than it does for the sake of his wife. She's pretty decently far along in the pregnancy isn't she, so maybe they're aware of some possible considerations that would make having access to a quality pediatric hospital that much more important. Who knows? That's 100% speculation, but it would make sense to me.
I thought his comment in the press conference about not going to Columbus for the views was pretty funny though. Seemed like he inadvertently called the place out for not being much to look at.
All in all, it's just amazing how badly he screwed the situation up with the way it was handled. It could have so easily been dealt with better for all parties. I would bet if he'd announced he was going to test free agency at the end of the season he would be a Flyer right now, he would be less hated by fans, he would be making more money, and he wouldn't have burnt bridges. Crazy
