He doesn’t need to be the centrepiece, but he’s absolutely a first line winger.
That only costs so little.
It all depends what the plan is (if there is one), and if he wants to be here.
Right now, I’d hope they’re having very frank discussions with Tkachuk, Lindholm, and Hanifin about their futures.
If they don’t want to be here, if Johnny leaving changes the calculation for them, fair enough.
But tell us now. Don’t put us through a year’s worth of song and dance about how much you love it here if you don’t.
And in Tkachuk’s case, he’s either got to be extended by camp or traded.
