Maybe Gaudreau just didn't want to work Sutter-hard. We heard that Sutter demanded better preparation for the upcoming season. We know he demands the team play with pace all the time. We know he requires his players to be responsible defensively and getting back into the play (in their own style). All of this is hard and you have to be motivated to win in order to follow through on that commitment. Maybe JG is just not that into winning and it's all too hard. It might not be the money, the family, or the pressure, but simply he isn't motivated to win to justify working that hard. He experienced it last year and maybe it wasn't fun. He knows it's going to be that way so long as Sutter is at the helm, so he had an opportunity to cash in on a great season and not have to go through it again.
So where is the best location in the east to get paid a lot of money and not have to try too hard? Columbus!!
