I will tell you this. A Tkachuk 8 year extension is exactly what this fanbase needs right now and it will launch him into a new level of love with this fanbase who already loves him.
If Chucky locked in and had a press conference about being loyal to the city and fans stating he wants to be here I think it is what we need right now. Make him captain, give him $11M if that is what it takes because he is now the franchise player. We know this organization is opposed to a rebuild so we must try and build around Chucky if he is willing to stay.
If he is not willing to stick it out I hope he is honest and let’s them know so we can find a trade partner now and not be in the same spot as we were just in with Gaudreau.
