If he signed in Columbus to have more time near his family, shouldn't he have had a far stronger incentive to sign in New Jersey?
To make it clear, I don't believe he signed in Columbus for family reasons at all. I believe he simply made a bad snap decision in an emotional crisis, once his preferred option was off the table.
