Compare to the situation if he actually had signed with one of those teams. In that case, he would be playing 7 or 8 road games plus all 41 home games, and living in the area to boot.

Such is the live of an NHL player. You don't get to see you family a lot during the year, so a few extra time to be able to probably means a lot. Four or five more time a year might not mean a lot to someone who sees their family all the time, but to someone who rarely sees them, it is a bigger deal. It adds up over the years too.
Anyway, BJs come to Calgary on Jan. 23, 2023. Should be an interesting night.
