I feel like I'm jumping into the viper's nest here but....
If the claim is true that it was a family "decision" then lots of the posts here are simply ignoring it and pointing the finger right at the player. Maybe there are other factors involved here that we just don't know about. Maybe his wife has a role lined up at the pediatric hospital in Columbus?
The guy, by most accounts, left a considerable amount of money on the table from Calgary and New Jersey (maybe others?). We can see that his decision was not about money and not about winning - maybe it was a family and human decision. As a husband and a father, I can see how that could drive someone to make a decision that looks illogical to outsiders.
Anyways, food for thought.
