So I don't disagree they should have traded him years ago. But I also understand that was unlikely.
The rest...meh. That's just you needing to point the finger at someone. If Johnny expressed that he had legitimate interest in signing here then I don't blame them for trying. I think the flames were blindsided if indeed they met his demands, and then still left.

Are you saying that misreading a two year negotiation with your crown jewel warrants an "awww shucks, tough one...you got snookered, better luck with the next one!" reaction? How is that not a catastrophic failure by the GM?
Not sure what would warrant a firing in your book.
