Philly is a cool city, but man there is a big dark underbelly in that city. I am sure the wealthy stay out of the bad areas, but if there is ever an all out class war in America, that place will probably be ground zero. There is one stretch that is like a worse version of Vancouver's downtown eastside, but it seems to go on for miles instead of a few blocks. In fact, I am 99% sure that I witnessed an armed robbery the one time I drove through. You drive, and you don't stop.

Yeah, I stayed in the Kensington neighborhood of Philly and our friends told us our trailer and gear would be perfectly safe and protected by the dealers because they didn't want any police around. I'm guessing where we stayed had a bit of an influence on how I view the city though. East Hastings in Vancouver is pretty rough too and it's sad that people get stuck in a cycle that keeps them from getting out.
I wonder if Johnny is regretting his decision with the Flames now that his childhood team is out...
