I actually think the Flames handled this much better than we could possibly expect.
They literally laid it all out for Johnny, plus brought in a coach and teammates to help him succeed, everything which has now led to him looking at $10 mil + per year money.
It is a lot different from Iginla, where management failed for years at building a winning team & culture around him. Eventually Jarome wanted to win and had to leave to do that, but he was loyal to a fault.
I get a strange vibe from all of this. Yesterday it made sense, today it makes no sense.
