Some are as cheap as $1500 per hour for turboprops. There are also semi-private options where you basically rideshare, etc.

No one thought it was about travel time. It was about living in the same community or right thereabout. It's about coming over for coffee or getting some sitting help.
And your lesser cost options are more time anyway. Rideshares are again on a timetable. Turboprops are horrible and take longer - it'd be a 2 hour flight (it's not just one hour even now - it's 1.5).
