The Flames lucked out having Lindholm singed at a steal, but most teams, are looking at close to a $30 million first line. Not a whole lot left to build the rest of the team out.

Very true points, but I do believe when you have a player who has the chance to be the best in your teams history, set records and have his number retired, you should be willing to retain that at the highest market rate. If he signs for more, than it means the Flames lowballed their best player, or didn't comprehend what the market was.
