Well they thought they knew. Driverless cars would kill having to pay drivers, and it would be pure gravy. Unfortunately reality hit(well technically they hit a cyclist) and the whole "driver-less cars are a year away" thing differed from reality. Now I don't know what their strategy is, other than to wait it out until we have AI.
