I think it's important they do something, as a message to their team (and guys they want to extend) as well as the fans.
Its important to be calculated about it, but to not just be idle & satisfied either.

I don't think they have much flexibility this year anyways after they sign Kylington, Eat Bread, Tkachuk. I'm interested in maintaining cap flexibility downtstream and not committing term to middling players.
