True. But I don’t think they have to put him out there. These guys talk and to old school hockey guys Tkachuk has a unique skill set and they’re probably proactively asking about him. No doubt BT already has a gauge on who’s interested, if not what his value is out there. Being an RFA is a tough spot to talk deals if teams don’t know what he’d settle for given he’s a Tkachuk after all. Anyway, I think the best trading partner given the potential return and win win on both sides remains Ottawa. Arizona would be ideal but I can’t see them going for it. But Ottawa looks like they’re trying (but with that goaltending a D will ultimately fail) which is why getting their 1st rounder is worthwhile for me.
