No he didn't. He owed the team nothing. Look what he gave your team over the years. He's paid them back fully for everything he's been given, and more.
The Flames believed in the player when they got him, but a lot of how he turned out was because of his own talent and hard work.
I'll agree it would have been preferable for the Flames if he decided sooner, but he owed them nothing. It's a business and teams don't show much loyalty to players, so I don't know why so many people expect players to bow down to the needs of the team.
