The biggest shame is Sutter only getting one full season with this core. The Peters/Ward era was a complete waste. I blame Treliving for Peters, but I think his hands were tied with Ward. I don't think the owners wanted to pay up for a coach during the pandemic.
I'm not opposed to a GM change, but I'm not interested in some unproven type without experience repeating a bunch of the same mistakes we've seen Treliving make in the early stages of his career.

Exactly. Given that there were reports of Murray Edwards personally presenting Johnny with an offer, chances are Treliving didn't have the authority to trade Gaudreau even if he wanted to.
Hell, he was asked about trying to trade his rights and said something along the lines of "That wasn't an option".
