This team with Gaudreau had a tough time winning, and generating offense in the playoffs. I don’t think that would’ve changed with an $11M Gaudreau signed. Would we all have been as eager to bring the band back if we lost to Dallas in game 7? I’m not too certain. However, this is an opportunity for this team to choose a new direction, and perhaps even a winning one.

I’m sad we were spurned by Johnny.
But seriously, this team wasn’t good enough with him.
Sucks we couldn’t turn him into something asset wise. But maybe this will be a step forward.
