Yes, it's the same team that disappointed so bloody much in Round 2, but does that automatically mean it's bound to happen again? Why can't the ceiling be higher? Why can't they learn things from what they did wrong?
If 13/19/88 are back, the makeup of the bottom six will be different next year, but different isn't bad. Different can surprise, different can be good. Different could mean a higher ceiling for the overall team and could push them to the next step.

It's not just this year though. It's the whole 8 years. We can stay a decent team for a while with Johnny on the team but I hope everyone is prepared for more of the same. If you are, great, you probably want Johnny back, not going to argue with you if think making the playoffs every other year with a star player the city loves is a half decent result. I believe ownership feels exactly that way actually, better business for them to stick with a half decent team with a beloved star that is just good enough to sometimes compete for playoff spots...and it's obviously their m.o. hello 2006-2013. That's a fair viewpoint. We're not getting anywhere close to Stanley Cup though.
