Except the Flames don't actually have much cap space with or without Gaudreau. Without him they can sign their RFAs and fill a decent 3rd pair. With him the roster needs a lot more surgery.

A guy who prioritizes being close to GRANDMA and GRANDPA (x2) over MONEY is simply a good person, full stop. The odds of winning with any of his likely suitors (including CGY) are pretty slim.
