He will take the one year unless he signs long term here. It buys him a year to get a long term deal done, get a trade to a team that will do it, or to go UFA.
He'd be dumb to go to arbitration. Too risky. An arbitrator wouldn't look at a one year average. And his comparables are not over 9M.
