I wasn't aware of this guy until this week (hasn't been on my radar), but I'm getting the sense he loves the doom and gloom.
Friedman's full conversation on the podcast was that he felt it was between Philly and Calgary, but Philly can't move the JVR contract to free up space to sign him. Most of his clip was about JVR's contract and personality, which leans into a lot of the underlying talk that Philly can't move contracts to free up space to sign Gaudreau.
If he signs with Calgary he's signing for nothing less than 10.5 per year. Calgary knows that and Gadureau knows that.
