I have little doubt he gets $11MM plus on the open market and that's the basis of the ask from the Gaudreau camp. Not much motivation for them to come down from that number so I don't see this as a meet in the middle kind of situation.

I have always considered the addition of the last year at about half AAV about equal.
So, 7 years at $12M ($84M) should be equal to about 8 years at $11.25M (90M).
This is based on a guess that in that 8th year Johnny should be able to get about $6M.
