What background checks should the Flames have done to reveal the fact that Bill Peters, who had been employed by several teams, was a racist? Who precisely should they have talked to who would have offered up that information?
And the reason why there was a delay and he resigned was because you can't just fire someone in this world. The racist acts took place while he was NOT under the Flames employee. There were lawyers on both sides involved and agreement reached on how he would depart.
