Without seeing all of the lists from every NHL team, I don't know how you can conclude that independent scouts are better at projecting players than NHL scouts.

So, it has happened a handful of times for players like Point, but how many times have these sorts of players been drafted late, and simply don't pan out? There is no guarantee at all that Goyette will even ever play a single game in the NHL.

Maybe we can call this "off the board," but sometimes these actually work out. I just don't think there is much to complain about here given that the Flames scouting staff has actually proven to be pretty good at handling the later rounds of the draft.
