The problem with hockey fans and insiders will always be the way they're measured.
If something doesn't happen does that mean the rumour was false? Most fans would assume yes to that, but it's not really fair.
There are plenty of insiders that make stuff up for sure, but I'm sure there are a dozen transactions a year that Treliving is looking into that don't come to fruition. Talking to Toronto about Kadri was a legit rumour for example even if it didn't happen.
The key is sorting out the wrong because they're making stuff up from the wrong because the deal didn't happen but was discussed.
