While I believe compensation can be improved upon, in the case of air Canada I don’t think that is their biggest barrier to hiring. A lot of people are skeptical to start a new career in the airline industry right now because they’re worried it could be shut down again. Similar to how despite the high price of oil a lot of people in Alberta who previously worked in O&G aren’t heading back to the patch.
Maybe AC just needs a stronger and better union if they are struggling to hire people. Unions solve all the issues.
