Really fun ppv tonight which Money in the Bank should be, I'm just going to comment on a few things.
Women's Money in the Bank ladder match: Liv Morgan def. Lacey Evans, Alexa Bliss, Raquel Rodriguez, Asuka, Shotzi and Becky Lynch
I thought this one was a lot of fun. the save herself from the ladder fall and hit Becky with a knee to the face spot to win it was a neat little spot. Morgan getting the win was not totally unexpected, but I think it was wanted by the fans. First of all, because its not the same old Becky who doesn't need a belt to get over. Shotzi, damn near killed Alexa on one blown spot where she lost her balance, then almost killed herself with a top rope spot on a ladder where she bounced the back of her head and neck off of the ladder.
Undisputed WWE tag team championship: The Usos (c) def. The Street Profits
I won't argue that FTR is the best tag team in the world right now. But I can argue that the USO's are in that upper stratosphere and have been there for a long time. I can also argue that the Street Prophets are really amazing as well. That match was a classic tonight with a ton of chemistry and false finishes, and some amazing diving high spots that made sense. They also teased a Ford heel turn at the end of tonight as his shoulder was up and he argued with his partner.
WWE United States championship: Bobby Lashley def. Theory (c)
A pretty good match, not on the level of the tag team match. Its clear that Theory is getting a mega push and the company wants to move him beyond the US Championship. Lashley has learned to play the crowd well, its a departure from his earlier wooden days. Theory is just such a natural heel.
WWE Raw women's championship: Bianca Belair (c) def. Carmell
Pretty much simply a Raw level match. Carmella has a lot of charisma and seems to like being a heel, but she doesn't have the physical tools anymore to play in the uppercard. Bianca is a star, but its almost like they really don't have anything for her to do but hold the belt.
Ronda Rousey (c) def. Natalya
I'm a fan of Nattie, but she still lacks upper card charisma. but this was a good physical match that was more about selling what's going to happen next, as Rousey went to the floor and "hurt" her knee. The advantage of Rousey working with someone like Nattie is that Nattie is so good that she can cover some of Ronda's execution issues. But having Ronda going over was no surprise this was to set up.
Liv Morgan def. Ronda Rousey (c) -- Briefcase cash-in for the Smackdown women's championship
With Ronda sitting on the mat doing a great job of selling her knee injury, Morgan's music hit and Liv came out with the briefcase and the crowd exploded. Ronda did this amazing little sell job, where she looked completely despondent and mouthed the simplest little selling word as Liv ran to the ring "Sh%t". It was simple and great. Liv came out and went at Ronda, but Ronda reversed it into a ankle lock that Liv sold like a million bucks, and everyone in the arena and probably watching at home, thought that Liv would get stiffed again. But Liv kicked Ronda in the injured leg and rolled her up in a small package to win the title, and we got a neat little emotional moment as Liv really seemed overwhelmed and over joyed. Good for her, she's busted her a$$ over the years and improved leaps in bounds. She just in the words of Cornette learn to throw a god damned punch.
Men's money in the bank Theory def Seth Rollins, Riddle, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Omos, Sami Zayn and Madcap Moss
Really good solid match with lots of big bumps that did a good job of building Riddle and Sami. But this was all about elevating Theory who was a late WWE add on to push the chosen one storyline. I expect that Theory will cash in after Reigns beats Brock as a handoff moment.
Overall just a solid well done fun ppv.
