The problem is ignorance from non owners.
Dogs can be trained not to do their business in the house. I have yet to have any friends say that thier dog urinated in the house or pinched a loaf on the floor or carpet.
Very few people take thier dogs to the pub, the football stadium, the bank, the doctors office, the drug store etc.
A well groomed dog is not going to leave dog hairs everywhere.
Responsible owners keep their dogs on a leash.
A well trained dog is a great companion.
