One of the goals of these hearings was to prevent Trump from being able to ever run again. Don't think they'll achieve that technically, but in 2024, DeSantis would be the smart choice with much less baggage. And the GOP is smart, and will see this.
If this happens, it'll be interesting to see if Trump tries to steal the nomination from DeSantis.

The thing with DeSantis is how people think he handled COVID. Florida was pretty much open the entire time and a lot of people think the restrictions in other places were and are still too overreaching.
