They just do it to pre-empt and attempt to de-legitimise any criticisms of their position before they happen, which is clever, since they usually post easily discredited nonsense.
Making it out like it’s always you vs. everyone is easier from an ego perspective than having to deal with the constant drain of holding poorly formed opinions intelligent (and even non-intelligent, like me!) people are naturally going to disagree with.
