I mean Enterprise did handle the Klingon change from the bumpy headed Klingons from Next Generation to the smooth headed Klingons from the original series.


You know the Klingon's that were more like space pirates and space jerks, then the dour Blah blah blah honor Klingons of later years.


The Discovery Klingons were annoying and stupid, and their makeup was so heavy that they literally looked like doffuses in Masks.


Maybe they need to do an episode where Pike asks about that "You don't look like the Klingon's that the Discovery interacted with".


Random Klingon Captain - "Those weren't Klingons they were tribbles wearing masks and we exterminated them"


That would explain the great Tribble hunt that work talked about in DS9, in the tribbles episode.
