The thing is....maybe what they should explore is more smaller, limited series options?

So instead of Reva having a whole show, maybe write something up that fits in the timeline of other stories you want to tell within a specific framework of your world and intertwine them for like 6 or 8 episodes and then move along?

You know...like 'World Building.'

Walk across the studio parking lot to those clowns over at Marvel who basically re-wrote the 'World Building For Dummies' Handbook and ask them how its done?
