They mark where the utilities run underground. The different colours are for like water/gas/electrical or something. The contractor doing the work for Telus (Brudco) put postcards in everybody’s mail slots saying they’re installing fibre and will be causing some damage to lawns and they promise to put it back to normal after. Where they’ve dug so far they’ve covered with plywood and surrounded with yellow tape. Different area, but this basically explains it:

For anything else, may be doing other upgrades. We have some marks on the road and sidewalks. Maybe related to the Telus upgrades, or possible / hopefully fixing the sidewalk cracks.
