There are two problems with VGK at this point: the obvious one is the salary cap, and how they go about putting together a cap-compliant roster to start the season. The other is injuries, and how several players will come out of it. We still have no idea about Jack Eichel's long-term prognosis, but on top of that, there is Mark Stone and Robyn Lehner. With how messed up Stone's back and Lehner's knees are, there is a very realistic chance that their best playing days have passed. Yes, this provides LTIR relief to VGK, but it seems pretty doubtful that they would be able to fill it with comparable players.
