Any thoughts on the Kappo Kakko situation? The scratch in game six he discovered on the line-up card, and no one spoke to him before or after. Weird move by Gallant. But he does have a good forecheck, plays with speed and defensively pretty sound. History of high offensive potential, although hasn't shown it the last two years from the bottom six in New York.
Lots of rumors that if he makes it to July 13th, he will be offersheeted, so NYR might be looking to trade him for a return before that.
Realistic contract is a two year bridge at 3M/per, but an offer sheet would probably be one year in the 4.5M range. I doubt he makes it to an offersheet, but an interesting name to have in the market.
The fact that Kravtsov signed and is coming back from the KHL, the Rangers might feel that they have a replacement in house.
