The focus was on games coming out in the next year as they wanted to show more gameplay and get away from the “here’s a cryptic CGI trailer of a game you’ll play in 2026” sort of thing. There’s a huge roster of studios under the Xbox umbrella now so obviously there is a lot in the oven for release beyond that window.
I mean, if Sony did a show centered around the same time frame, would it really have a whole lot more? God of War would be in there I suppose, but there were some cool games shown off today and the fact that so many of them just plop in to Gamepass on day 1 is gravy.

This is key to me. It's bad enough when you are in a theatre and you get this amazing movie preview and they say "Summer 20xx" and you are immediately bummed that you have to wait 6-8 months. The video game industry one-ups that with amazing CGI teasers for games that won't be released for years if they ever get out of developmental hell. I prefer the focus on games that are coming out in the next calendar year.
