Very good showing for Canada this week on two fronts, we needed this so badly.

1. 5 of the top 10 golfers, very stacked field, with many stars right in the thick of it. Great storylines (Rose one shot off 59, Thomas vs Finau vs Rory). Fans were absolutely insane (Justin Thomas: 'This crowd is electric, it feels like a major out there').

2. Up against a human rights abusing regime's rival tournament that attempted to upend us and take all the spotlight for their inaugural event. They failed to do so, as their tournament came off goofy, sparsely attended (and it turns out most of the people that did attend didn't pay for their tickets) and more of an exhibition put on as a play toy for a brutal regime.

We won that week of golf, both against the Saudis and in terms of relevance on the PGA tour. Won't be surprised if the Canadian Open is an even bigger deal next season, especially if some stars from this week have great showings at the US Open, making other stars think twice about skipping it.

Three fronts actually, Brooke Henderson won her 11th tournament on the LPGA this weekend.
