Oh man, the scheduling of the North American tournament after the British Open was basically a PGA meeting of "so, who do we completely **** with this slot?".

Shame it was Canada for so long. But what a positive couple of tournaments in the new slot. I honestly suspect with it being a warm up event for the US Open, along with the appeal of it being a big tournament on it's own will see it grow into something that the top 30 golfers mark down at the beginning of the season each year.

I mean with it being in a great slot, the history of it being one of the oldest tournaments, the Canadian crowds, the RBC sponsored golfers, the desire to "warm up" for the US Open etc, I could honesty see the Canadian Open being one of the bigger events of the season in the coming decade.

On par with any majors or playoffs? No. Up there with the best of the rest? Absolutely.
