I'm not assigning blame to the vendor, just wondering about how someone can hand over an AR-15 and hundreds of rounds of live ammo to some random kid on his 18th birthday and feel everything seems fine. I guess any vendor probably deals with lots of nuts and nothing generally goes wrong, but a kid showing up and asking for that gun and that ammo seems like a mental alarm bell situation. It's probably just too alien a culture for me to really empathize with.
