The hashmark changes certainly creates a nightmare for defensive coordinators. as the throw to the field side automatically becomes shorter, and the boundry side becomes longer.


Usually your boundary corner is a physical jammer that can throw off routes and shut down Y receivers. At the same time with that throw to the field side being shorter and quicker, its going to mess up the field side secondary especially in zone packages. Suddenly your Z receiver can come back into the game plan, because unless you had a super gun QB those deep sideline routes were low percentage.
