Wargroove scratched my Advance Wars itch like Balloo rubbing on a tree. SO good. It's made by the Stardew guys if that helps.
Wargroove has some very cool features that you don't see too often.
* Asynchronous online play. You can play with your friend where you take a turn now and they take their turn tomorrow or when they're ready. Like chess by mail.
* Campaign editor mode. You can download entire campaigns that other users have made. Users have replicated campaigns from all the Advance wars games pretty well
