Rights are not absolute, especially when it comes to self defence in Canada. I can’t keep a trained attack Grizzly in my home and I can’t keep a loaded handgun beside my bed. If I use either to defend myself, even if my life is in danger, I run the risk of going to jail.
Nowhere does it say you have a right to own a firearm. Your argument is like saying I have freedom of movement so I have a right to drive a car. It’s just not true.
