What do you mean “forcing himself onto the Flames’ roster?” He’s already on the team and has a role. He’s considered a leader in that dressing room. I don’t think he feels uncomfortable at all. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a player remove themselves from a team just help their cap situation, if anyone has an example, I’d like to hear it because right now, it sounds like daydreaming.
It wouldn’t even be up to just him, what about his wife’s opinion? Does she want to pack up and move? The kids and all their friends? What does it mean for the proceeding years after his contract ends? Maybe he does retire then, that could ultimately mean another move to somewhere else. 2 moves in one calendar year. Seems crazy to me that a player would uproot his family to help out his GM.
Anyways, I’m not going to waste any more time arguing about Lucic retiring or not retiring as I don’t think it’s realistic. We’re just going to have to agree to disagree.
