I don't see that as progress. I see the trend Johnny not showing up in the play offs each and every time. He scored an absolutely lucky goal to limp the Flames past a team Calgary should have handled quickly .
I don't want to uave JG leave but I wouldn't be sad to see that extra cash go towards filling out the rest of the roster . I think the back half of the contract is going to be an anchor. I think putting that much in for both these players we will end up the Buffalo of the West.

Your analysis is pretty weak you obviously didn’t watch the games if all you thought Johnny did was score 1 lucky goal.
Using money to fill out the roster is a horrible idea when there is no heir to replace what Johnny brings to the team.
